Networks
Another important class of geographic objects are networks of connected
line segments embedded in 2-dimensional geographic space.
- The Mississippi River, which consists of multiple streams, each of which
may comprise another set of streams.
- The U.S. Interstates.
- The path of an convoy moving through space.
Through generalization, the composition of such networks may change.
Goal: To assess when the topological relations in two scenes with
networks are topologically consistent or not.
