Abstract
The application of traditional database query languages to
geographic databases has been seriously hampered by the lack of
functionality to formulate spatial queries and the shortage to
represent spatial query results appropriately. It is argued that
the interaction between user and database has to be included into
the language design to provide for a high-level, interactive
database interface language.
