Abstract
This paper defines the notion and concepts of Naive
Geography, the field of study that is concerned with formal
models of the common-sense geographic world. Naive Geography is the
body of knowledge that people have about the surrounding geographic
world. Naive Geography is envisioned to comprise a set of theories
that provide the basis for designing future Geographic Information
Systems that follow human intuition and are, therefore, easily
accessible to a large range of users.
