Liping is a PhD candidate at the University of Maine in the School of Computing and Information Science. Her advisors are Prof. Michael Worboys and Prof. Kate Beard.

Liping's current research interests include ontologies and unified models of indoor and outdoor spaces. She is working with her advisor Prof. Michael Worboys for the NSF project of Information Integration and Human Interaction for Indoor and Outdoor Spaces. Using formal spatial models combined with semantics to build efficient navigation model for indoor space, which can be further integrated with outdoor space, is her ongoing focus.
